Nutritional Therapy

Feeling below par?

Wish you had more energy?

Want to ‘get healthy’ but don’t know where to start?

Recovering from injury or illness?

Looking to improve your sports performance?

There is no single ‘perfect diet’. We are all unique and the ‘one size fits all’ models of eating simply don’t work well for a lot of people. Factors such as our genes, age, lifestyle, exercise levels, illness and stress all impact on the nutritional requirements of our body. Nutritional therapy is all about identifying individual needs and working out which foods will help you function  at your best.

Nutritional Therapy may be helpful for:

  • Mental and emotional wellbeing
  • Supporting optimal energy levels
  • Women’s health
  • Hormone balance
  • Sports and athletic performance
  • Healthy immune function
  • Digestive health
  • Identifying and managing food intolerances and sensitivities
  • Weight management
  • Skin, hair and joint health

Evonne Ginman DipION, mBANT, CNHC Registered Nutritional Therapist

I am passionate about working with people to enhance their health and wellbeing through nutrition and lifestyle coaching. I offer nutritional therapy consultations that are personalised, focused and evidence based.

I spent four years studying nutrition at the Institute for Optimum Nutrition in London. I am a member of the British Association for Applied Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy (BANT) – the regulatory body for Nutritional Therapists, and registered with the Complimentary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) – the governments regulatory body for complimentary healthcare practitioners.

What does a nutritional therapy consultation involve?

Before the first consultation you will be asked to complete a comprehensive health and nutrition questionnaire. The initial consultation lasts 60 minutes and in this time I will ask detailed questions about your current health concerns, symptoms, conditions and treatment, general medical history and medications, family health history, lifestyle, physical activity, diet and supplements.

I will then evaluate your individual needs to develop a personalised, safe and effective Personal Health Plan. This may include dietary changes, food plans, recipes and shopping ideas, recommendations for supplements and lifestyle management.

Follow-up consultations are 45 minutes and allow us to evaluate your progress and make necessary adjustments.

Functional/Laboratory Tests

In some instances functional testing may be advisable. A range of tests are available which can be used as a diagnostic tool to help identify imbalances and as a way of monitoring health programmes. The associated costs vary, please enquire for more details.

Common functional tests include:

  • Comprehensive diagnostic stool analysis (with or without parasitology). This is a useful marker of digestive function, intestinal inflammation and microbial imbalances.
  • Food intolerance and allergy testing
  • Nutritional profiles
  • Hormone testing  – sex hormones, adrenal hormones, thyroid hormones
  • Mineral analysis
  • Essential fatty acids
  • Liver profiles
